Mk2 Focus ST
The current Focus ST170 has been criticised by it's overly tall gearing and lack of low down torque.
The replacement ST is sure to address these comments. Very little information is around right now, but the new ST is likely to be a soft-riding cruiser rather than a track-day bruiser.
Expect lots of kit, a more sporty suspension setup than the standard Focus and a naturally aspirated engine pushing out 180 - 200 bhp.
Styling is likely to be more interesting than the current Focus ST170 with more bespoke design touches.

Mk2 Focus RS
While nothing has been confirmed, it seems likely that the Focus range will be the first to feature all three performance brands - 'ST', 'RS' and 'Cosworth'.
The RS is likely to be less hard-edged than the current Focus RS, featuring less agressive power delivery and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain.
The RS would not be expected until at least 18 months after the new shape Focus is launched, meaning a launch during 2006 if it ever happened.

Mk2 Focus Cosworth
The Cosworth brand is back, with Jost Capito, Team RS boss discussing how the three Ford performance brands will compliment each other.
Ford Cosworth cars are likely to be extreme machines designed for the track - unforgiving suspension setups, brutal power delivery and agressive styling are all expected. The Focus Cosworth will use an AWD version of the C1 platform with modern differentials getting the power down. A turbocharged 4 cylinder Duratec is the mostly likely engine choice, although collaborations with Volvo or Mazda are also possible. Expect at least 300bhp and an extremely light-weight body giving a 0-60 time of well under 5 seconds and a top speed near 160mph. Ford are aware that they will be competing with established players like the Impreza STi and Mitsubishi Evo and will be sure to deliver an awesome vehicle to regain the top spot. A concept could appear at any time, although the Cosworth is unlikely to make production before 2006. |

Fiesta RS
Although the Fiesta RS is only a concept at this stage, Ford have every intention of producing the RS.
The details still need to be decided - will it be a limited production run, or a mainstream model? Which engine and drivetrain will be used? Rumours from inside Ford suggest a turbocharged 2.0 Duratec delivering 200bhp through the front wheels.A launch date towards the end of 2005 seems likely. |

Mondeo RS / Cosworth
Mondeo sales have been plumeting in recent years and could really use a boost. The ST220 is an excellent car, but lacks the sharpness and appeal of the Focus RS. Towards the end of the current Mondeo's life Ford may decide to go out with a bang.
Not even the press have any information about any plans, but an M3-competing, 4x4, 350bhp beast would do the trick! The press have recently rumoured a quick Diesel Mondeo appearing - sounds interesting. |

Focus C-Max ST
As Ford try to extend the appeal of it's ST brand, other cars in the core range could be given the Team RS treatment.
The C-Max seems an obvious choice - already running on the excellent C1 platform and plenty of opportunity for performance tuning.
